Will Christensen is the Vice President of Veteran Services for Avalon Health Care. In this position he oversees the retention of existing opportunities for Avalon to administer State Veteran Homes and to find solutions to better care for our Veterans, he also works to develop new opportunities to work with State and Federal Veteran Departments. Mr. Christensen continues to maintain and establish new relationship within the Veteran community on the state level as well as in the Federal Veteran Administration. Mr. Christensen brings experience and expertise in the Veterans Affairs realm. As a leader in the Army, he has spent much of his 25 years in uniform helping other Veterans understand the resources available to them. One of the most rewarding times in his career was spent as the commanding officer of a Warrior Transition Unit. There, he helped over 300 injured, ill, and wounded Soldiers make the transition to civilian life and navigate their Veterans medical and health care benefits. This command led him to pursue a Healthcare Facility Administrator license, which he earned in December of 2016.
Will is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve. He has commanded organizations at the Company and Battalion level. His most recent command was the Battalion Commander of a Combat Service Support Battalion of six Companies comprising 700 Soldiers, during his 28 months in command the battalion deployed to Eastern Europe for 10 months. Will also just completed an assignment at the Pentagon working in the Logistics Operations Center and as a member of the Army’s Crisis Action Team. Will has significant experience in leadership and operations spanning more than 25 years in the military, real-estate development and management, the aerospace industry, and healthcare.
Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, he attended the University of Utah where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree, he also earned an MBA from Trident University with an emphasis in Strategic Leadership.
